WHO TO ATTEND
The BLS course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills.
INDIVIDUAL OUTCOMES
On completion of programme, participants will:
- Understand and apply standard scientific steps necessary in professional resuscitation courses, but also allows
- Develop their critical thinking, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills, and work on reflection and debriefing, which serves to strengthen their overall learning and work experience.
COURSE CONTENT
- Importance of early CPR
- Basic steps of 1 and 2 rescuer CPR for adults, children and infants
- Defibrillation and steps for use of an Automated External Defibrilator
- Basic steps to relieve choking for responsive and unresponsive victims over 1 year of age and for infants
- Link in the adult and paediatric Chain of Survival
